FLINT (WJRT) - (01/13/19) - Hundreds of hourly employees impacted by General Motors' November announcement to close up to five plants, including two in the Detroit area, will now be transferring to Flint Assembly, according to GM.

The auto manufacturer said 409 employees from Detroit/Hamtramck and 82 employees from Lordstown, Ohio will be placed into new assignments in Flint to support the upcoming heavy-duty pickup launch.

109 Lordstown employees will now be working in the company's Spring Hill, Tenessee facility.

More than 1,500 U.S. hourly employees volunteered to transfer elsewhere. GM says more than 700 of them have accepted transfer opportunities at truck, SUV and crossover related operations.

GM says there will be more job opportunities throughout the year in manufacturing in Michigan, Texas, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Indiana for impacted employees.

your opinion is appreciated, but you answered your own concerns..
anyone who is driven to invest in themselves are leaving because there is less red tape and bad politics elsewhere.
why did you take your savings to kentucky.
i agree that the people of flint should stop blaming and stand up, but its easier said than done, especially from way out where you are...

does anyone have an opinion that they can support themselves?
